Eau De Dragon...
During one of my dragon interactions, Emerald began sniffing me like a horse does to her human. She nudged me with her nose, repeatedly inhaling. I honestly didn’t think much about it, since her behavior felt so natural.
A week or two later, I was having a conversation with my mentor. He mentioned that the various dragons in his life were quite interested in smelling him when they would first meet him. At some point, he asked one of them about this custom.
The gigantic, golden dragon rumbled affectionately. “Once I have your scent I will always remember you. Now, I will be able to find you no matter where you are.”
My mentor felt that the cordial response to their custom was obviously to ask to smell them in return… He suggested I do the same with Emerald.
After our conversation I did that very thing.
A mere moment later I caught Emerald’s scent physically. It was a funny burnt smell, like something smoking in the kitchen and something that reminded me of burned rubber. The smell was caustic and unpleasant.
I began walking to our kitchen not yet connecting the dots. I was concerned a burner had been left on and something had caught fire.
As I walked from the other side of the house, I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks as a realization hit me. “Emerald, is that you?!” I asked incredulously.
“Yes.” Her gravely voice was unapologetic.
I was shocked at how chemical the scent seemed. “You stink!” I told her, my tone instinctively dropping as if she didn’t know… Meanwhile ignored the temptation to wave the air in front of my nose.
“So do you!” She huffed.
I shrugged, having worked in the garden earlier that day. I snuck a discreet sniff toward my armpits as if she couldn’t see what I was doing… I had been planning to shower after lunch. Fair point, it was the only thought I could respond with.
Our conversation seemed to end on that note and a few minutes later the scent faded away.
~~~
A week or so later, I noticed that same burned-rubber scent. It was unmistakably Emerald. As the the uniquely strange aroma permeated the room I assumed this was a sign that Emerald wanted to interact with me.
When nothing followed during the next few minutes, I began journaling instead. But after about 2 paragraphs of journaling, Emerald butted into my mind and a dive soon began…
Note
The day before I published this dive, an amusing synchronicity occurred. Which made me laugh.
I was reading a book by a Native American medicine man. He was talking about power and vision quests and mentioned the following:
In Northwestern California the Native American peoples sometimes purified themselves by “smoke pit” in addition to the sweat house. They made a fire pit in the ground, waited until the wood became coals, then placed heaps of fresh Douglas Fir boughs upon the coals and thoroughly smudged the themselves. This method serves to rid one of human scent, which we believe the spirits consider repulsive…
I plan to publish the dive that followed in the near future.
New here?
What if it were possible to have conversations with angels and other spiritual beings? What would they say? What questions would we find ourselves asking them? What if we could pour ourselves a beverage and listen to someone interview them on a podcast or YouTube channel?
These writings are perhaps a glimpse into that very idea. Here I share journal excerpts from my own conversations with angels, I call these experiences “dives…”
Allow me to introduce you to:
Marcus & Akiemba, my two guardian angels who are my primary spiritual “tutors.”
A water dragon named Emerald, who has chosen to live near my home.
Storm, a human who happens to be my amazing husband. :)
~
As we begin this journey together I ask you to start the same way I did. To hold an open mind and ask yourself this question: is there truth to be found here?
I can’t wait to introduce you to the realm at the edge of our senses!
