Evaluating a Spiritual Source: Angels vs Demons
I had just woken from a disturbing dream and was evaluating its source. I quickly realized it was an evil spirit messing with me.
“But what if it’s still a ‘prophetic dream?’ A creepy energy replied.
I don’t take prophecies from demons. I growled back at it with my thoughts.
Then I heard Marcus chime in, “that’s right. Remember who he is: the father of lies. He does give some people prophetic information, but he always twists things. He uses the information to frighten them. He also twists true prophetic information with lies, or shows things from a strange angle to confuse them and to work things from his end. Technically, you can work with demons for prophecy but it is always like that. It’s never worth it. You do not want any information they give you, even if some of it is true.”
“Some mystics get themselves really worked up that way. They have a legitimate gift. Say for example they have the gift of dreams.”
“But some do not filter their dreams by their source, as they should. Some wouldn’t mind taking information from the devil if they thought the information would show them what things were going to happen (in the future.) They’d be fine with ‘demons told me there’s going to be an earthquake,’ as long as it was accurate. But what they don’t understand, is that the information may be true, but Satan will cause you to misunderstand the event and why it happened, making you worse off than before.”
“Do not give the devil enough clout in your life to take prophetic insight from him. Do not even write down the dreams he gives you, to do so is to give him too much weight in your life. Ignore him. That is the best way to handle that. If you give him attention he will give you more, if you ignore him he will eventually decide his efforts are wasted and will redirect most of them.”
“Look at the fruit of a thing. What impact are these dives having on you? Compare this to the impact of some people’s dreams about things like natural disasters. What impact is it having on them and those they share it with?”
“The devil is a spiritual being, meaning he knows prophetic things. (As spiritual beings do.) You can divine certain things through him, but it will always be clouded, there will always be something foul in it. He cannot tell truth plainly, he is incapable of it. Everything is like rope in his hands: twisted. That is how he handles everything. It is his way.”
“Satan loves to show people messages of doom without proper context, he is the master of ‘copy-and-pasting’ a thing to make it appear entirely different than it is. He twists everything.”
“When we, the angels, on the other hand, bring bad tidings, they are warnings to avert danger or to prepare you to weather an incoming storm… These messages are put into proper context and we do what is in our power to avoid instilling fear.
‘Do not fear!’
-That is the standard greeting of angels…”

Lunar: 2 nights after the Dark Moon.*
*This is often referred to as the “new moon” in modern vernacular. But many traditional cultures considered the new moon to occur when the moon is once again visible. Because I too hold to this idea, I am using the words “Dark moon” to refer to the days when the moon is hidden.
