Intro
(This section is duplicated from the previous excerpt to set the scene for the rest of the dive.)
I found myself in a a forest. I could hear the cooing of doves. Giant glowing crystals of various shades, punctuating the forest with color. Some of them were on pedestals made from tree stumps. The stumps had been carved down in the middle so that there was a lip around the top edge with the crystal sitting in the middle of it, filling most of the stump. There were also floating white specs in the air that looked like miniature cotton balls. They seemed to be in clusters which were attached by what looked like strands of a spiders web. A cluster here, and a cluster over there. Then, I saw someone tall and thin, who appeared to be an elf. He had light blonde hair and his ears had long curved points.
He was conversing with a moose, but I couldn’t hear him. Instead, I found myself visually enamored with how the points of his ears moved as he spoke, raising at one point and then later wiggling side to side a bit. It struck me that he was using his ears to communicate in much the same manner as we tend to use our eyebrows, raising them with excitement and furrowing them low when troubled or pondering something. I found myself realizing that animals tend to do the same. They use their ears to communicate reactions over distances with each other.
I walked over to one of the giant gems to look at it. This one was a beautiful fuchsia color with a raw top. “Akiemba, what is this about?” I asked.
“Stabilizers,” he said. “Energy. Batteries. Let’s look at some more first.”
We walked over to a blue crystal as I glimpsed another, deeper in the woods whose color was black. We continued walking through the forest, gazing at a variety of living trees punctuated with the colored stones. Each gemstone was huge, like a pillar….
Elemental spirits
“So what are we gonna talk about?” I asked.
“How, you need a good tickle!” Akiemba reached over, as he spoke, fingers flying as I burst into laughter and wiggles.
Later, a griffin appeared and landed near us. His dark brown feathers rustling in the breeze. Akiemba stopped and turned to look at it. There was something regal about their interactions.
“Sir,” the griffin began, “I bring news.”
“What news?” Akiemba said.
“News of a wind breaking out in this area.”
“Oh?” Akiemba’s tone grew both serious and inquisitive.
“Yes sire...”
“Well, then you’d better take the Little One.” Akiemba said and he turned and picked me up, lifting me on to the griffin’s back.
“Yes sir,” he said.
“Time to go!” Akiemba said as he took a few running steps and flew into the air. Seemingly instantaneously the griffin and I were in the air too. We flew up over the woods, as I wondered what was going on and what we were doing. Were we getting out of the way of this ‘wind’ or headed somewhere to do something about it? We flew along, passing little fragments of clouds as we went, I could feel the breeze move past my body. I stretched out one of my hands to feel the motion around me better.
“What are we doing?” I asked the griffin.
“Patience child, you will see,” he responded.
As we flew I couldn’t shake the image in my mind that the ‘wind’ the spoke of was to the right and behind our flight path and that we were flying away from it. Eventually we flew into what I knew to be heaven, but it was a different area than I’d even been to before. We landed on the floating floor and Akiemba walked toward a place that had rooms similar to horse stalls in it. There was a creature by the entrance to the ‘stable.’ I’d never seen Akiemba this intensely mission-oriented before...
“Where is the creature over that storm?” Akiemba said abruptly to a being standing by the stables.
“Ah, he’s out that way,” the creature said pointing.
As this unfolded I began thinking of how Enoch described angels that led out storms from their ‘chambers’ and found myself wondering if elemental spirits were a lot like the angel’s version of livestock, powerful but dumb. Perhaps they too needed to be kept in a stable, tended and guided in order to get the results of their labor, much like a bull that plows a field.
“Come,” Akiemba said to me. I walked over to where he was headed, there was an area abutting the stable that appeared to be open sky, we were headed toward it. “Observe,” he instructed me.
I image was still becoming clear, but there seemed to a dark colored...something nearby.
“This is a rogue wind.” Akiemba began. “There are meant to be many winds, there are south winds and north winds, and little winds that all fit into patterns so that the earth has fertile weather. But sometimes these creatures do not follow their prescribed path. Often it is because they do not have an angel attending them. Think of them as stable hands that make sure a bull plows the correct field. The earth is meant to have fertile weather just like it is meant to have fertile soil and certain things have to happen to create that. You used to plow fields with your beasts of burden, and we plow the skies with winds. They are the furrows of the air, the gulleys for irrigation. You will notice too that rain tends to follow along in the paths of the winds, does it not? Like farmers, we seed the air with rain, and it matures and becomes fertile, full clouds that pour down rain upon the earth watering it and bringing life. The snow is like winter pollen that comes from the skies, laying it’s blanket down upon the earth. You humans do not necessarily have to tend to the weather yourself. You are like a king who has a servant over livestock. You can ask for angels to be assigned to the elemental spirits, for they too are like the livestock of the sky and it is best if they are guided. This is why some may see these creatures depicted as things like bulls, livestock. This is a useful metaphor to help you understand their roll.”
“So the best thing to do with rogue elementals is to have an angel assigned to them?” I clarified.
“Yes, angels are easier to command and interact with for obvious reasons.” Akiemba winked at me. “We also have complex understandings of your Eco-system so we are able to create plans for enriching it.”
The bulls of the sky… I thought to myself, shaking my head. “Am I supposed to do anything about this one?” I asked.
“Would you like to?” Akiemba asked.
“It might be good practice?”
He chuckled.
With that I headed toward the being, where I was met with a blustery voice. “Who dares enter my dominion?!” The wind bellowed.
This makes sense, they do seem bully-like. Then I sent a thought toward him. Why do you think this is your domain?
“Because I am here,” it answered.
“So you think that’s what gives you rights to something?” I prodded.
It paused as if trying to understand. “Why do you enter my dominion?” It asked again.
“You are supposed to submit to Father who made you, and come into his kingdom.” I told it.
“Father?” He paused. “Father…Why?”
“He made you and he cares for you.” I answered.
There was another pause.
I looked toward Akiemba, and quirked an eyebrow. “How do I get an angel for this guy?”
He laughed, then made a motion with his hand. An angel nearby walked over to him and they talked for a moment. A moment later another angel flew toward me.
“Um, can you take care of this?” I asked him.
He laughed, “I can manage it. We’ll get him into a herd.”
“Thanks.” I said to him, then I strolled back toward Akiemba and plopped down.
“Ready to go Little One?” he said raising an eyebrow.
I reached over and gave him a hug.
“You’re doing well,” he smiled.

I believe it is our destiny, as it was the Ancients, to work in harmony with the Elementals! Beautiful, Willow!
