"Noteworthy" -Highlights from my notes feed
Catch up on the good stuff while also having a life.
Why I’m creating “Noteworthy” posts:
One of the things I dislike about so many content creators is that the common strategy is more content = always better.
I don’t want more fluff, I want the gold. I prefer to see condensed, high value content that is organized in a useful way. Those values were barriers to creating Interviewing Angels. I had to wrestle through all the reasons I didn’t want to be what many other content creators are. I eventually decided that I was going to break all the rules and do this publication in a way that resonates with the core of who I am.
I can’t stomach most marketing strategies and games, in fact that type of behavior often causes me to disengage, and I’m betting I’m not the only quality human who behaves that way. I believe what I am giving has value and that will speak for itself. If it’s truly serving a need, I won’t have to pitch it, people will find it. I suspect this counter-cultural behavior will unlock a new strategy that fills a need others are also experiencing. When I follow a blogger I don’t want to have to check in all the time. I don’t want you to feel like you need to do that either.
I’m not here to create an addiction. I’m here to enrich your life.
So that’s caused me to ponder, how do I navigate the social media side of substack? -AKA the “notes” feed? Some of what I share there I don’t share anywhere else.
I’ve used this short-form space to share:
Quotes from my dives that stand alone and are unlikely to make it into a full-sized post.
Brief moments of spiritual connection that invade my day: words of advice from Marcus, or funny things Emerald has said.
Or maybe a vision of a beautiful creature that feels too short to be a post unto itself.
I also share wisdom / reflections from my life as a mystic.
I enjoy getting likes and comments on my notes and honestly those are incredibly valuable for visibility and algorithms. (Both of which are important while building a blog.) I’m happy to see you when you want to be here. But I don’t want my readers to feel obligated to create a substack account and sift through my notes to mine for things. Then it dawned on me:
What if I pulled the important stuff from my notes feed and the comments sections, then curated it into an organized post every months or so?
I’ll be experimenting with that very thing here. (Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments at the end, or by hitting reply to this email.) Heads up, this first post will be longer since it spans my first 2 months of content, rather than a single month. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Spiritual experiences
Things I have seen:
…I saw a gorgeous female creature in the water.
She was humanoid, very tall and thin, iridescent blue, like the color sheen on a bubble that shifts in the light.
But instead of having a clear “base” color the way that soap bubbles do, her coloration had a silvery blue underneath the shimmering rainbow of reflections.
She had long hair and something similar to fins where her feet should have been.
I saw her as she swam in the deep pocket of the river….

Things my angel told me:
Fear often masquerades as wisdom…
~~~
“What if my goal was to heal the earth and make her stronger so that evil had trouble existing on her?
Would that not be a better way?
Oh yes I came to destroy the works of evil, but I also came to heal the earth and those in her.
Think about the implications of that for a while…”
Songs my spirit-dragon likes
I’m always looking for ways to make my connection with my spirit guides more real, to bring them into my daily life. Connection to the divine is no different than with physical beings: time spent together strengthens our bond. When I play a song Emerald likes, she will often cut into my awareness and let me know.
I have acquired a collection of songs that I play for her when I’m doing things like house chores or driving somewhere. Doing this is a great way to invite her into the more mundane parts of my life.
If you are looking for ways to interact with spirit dragons this is a great way to reach out! Or, to strengthen the connection you already have with your own spiritual beings…
Reflections
I’ve coined a new term:
“Cotton candy spiritually”
It’s spirituality that is colorful and a nice experience that melts away and lacks substance.
(And too much of it will often leave you feeling funny…)
Often silence and downtime acts as a blank canvas where we can express ourselves. The blankness of the space left empty gently coaxes us to turn within and it draws deeper parts of ourself forward onto that awaiting canvas. Leaving space in our live is not time wasted, it is part of living…
~~~
What if we practiced slower conversation? Ones where we paused between when one person speaks and the other starts? Not because we can’t keep up with the pace, but to allow us to be present and focus fully on the other person before we consider our own response to them. So that we can be attuned to the other person rather than distracted or accidentally self-absorbed.

I grew up in church-culture. There were so many moments in life where I would feel the magic of the other side and I would run toward it as best as I knew how, but whenever I thought I felt a doorway open I would usually find out that I was instead running toward a brick wall -head first and at top speed...
This cycle repeated countless times, and every time I grew more confused and frustrated. It would take me years to understand that religion and spirituality are two different metrics, each functioning independently of the other...
It was mostly through trial-and-error and a lot of hardship along the way that I came to have any understanding of my spiritual experiences and how they functioned. They were just things that “happened” to me. Eventually I began to learn how to instead “happen the experiences.” I spent much time in reflection -because the person I could best study was myself. I started networking and would interview and ask questions of anyone who seemed to have spiritual gifting. I mined for patterns, took endless notes, and did everything again. Eventually new experiences emerged and things began to crystalize into understanding.
That’s one of the reasons I am now sharing here, in hopes that I can shed light on the spiritual realm for others who feel like they’ve been running toward brick walls or groping for doorways that can’t seem to be found. To hopefully spare others the injuries of being boxed where they do not fit, and offer them a deeper path. The one I was looking for, that took me years to find….
If this resonates with you or you know someone who might relate to this I’m glad we’ve found each other…

Many things in life are like breathing cycles: expand, then contract. This cycle is often the key to balance in life. We must learn to oscillate back and forth.
There are times where we acquire new things and times where we de-clutter and purge.
Times where we spend a day socializing and networking, followed by a quiet weekend of reflection and time in nature.
Daytime and summer where we work and spend our energy in outward ways. And “the cool times” of winter and the night, where we rest and turn our energy inward to expend it on spiritual activities.
Everything is a cycle, inhale, exhale….
Expand and contract….

The future can be frightening.
But I have learned that at every bend of the river there is always something positive that surprises us.
The divine always has a plan, something we haven’t thought of -which is why it can be hard to have hope. It’s hard to hope in what we can’t see.
So many of the dark moments in my own life have been gateways to the best things, I see no reason why it cannot be the same for humanity…
There are always good paths that can be found by those that seek them…
Quote from Storm
“We have to be careful not to get so engrossed in the smallness of life (the white pocket fence and the rat race etc.) that you miss the largeness of life (the expansive spiritual opportunities.)” -Storm
Quote from my upcoming book
In a world filled with duty and legalism, interacting with spiritual beings has been a much needed antidote. They continually teach me what it looks like to understand love as a powerful guiding force that can provide an alternative way to conduct our affairs…

Highlights from the comments section
I recently had a reader ask if I experience a divine feminine energy…
Here’s my reply:
I grew up in the church, so I had to undergo my own journey of discovering and reclaiming the feminine as divine... I have experiences with a divine feminine energy who I often refer to as Wisdom, Sophia or The Holy Spirit. Many of my experiences with Wisdom are very nurturing and healing, and deeply personal... These times are highly experiential and often do not involve many words (they are something deeper.) This makes it much more challenging write about and post them here, which unfortunately gives a false slant to the spiritual realm that I had not considered…
In light of this, I have done some digging through my journals to find an experience that I could share about and released a post where one of my angels talks about the role of Wisdom in creation and how feminine energy has the ability to imbue things with life. I hope it brings balance and restoration wherever it might be needed…
-If you missed the post you can check it out here:
Life happens at the boundaries (where feminine & masculine join)
As I began the dive a horned head greeted me...it was Marcus. We were in a small cave, on a little planet where we often like to meet. As I took in my surroundings, Marcus chimed in, “It’s been a little while since your last dive.”
Questions for my readers
(Drop a comment with your answer below. Please include the question number at the beginning of your comment.)
#1
What is your number one question about connecting to you guardian angel? What piece of knowledge could I talk about that would help empower you on your journey to interact with your own spirit guides?
~~~
#2
What do you think are defining traits of spiritually mature person?
~~~
#3
How do you think we might create groups for the spiritually mature?
What would encourage that type of person to participate?
Likewise what might encourage the immature to find a group better suited to their preferences?
Noteworthy comment:
Elior Finlan posted a reply that is solid gold. Here's what he said:
I think a lot of it comes down to pace and stimulus density.
Most social platforms are built around short attention spans and high-intensity rewards.
Every scroll gives a hit, and the next one has to hit harder. There’s no oxygen left for reflection.
Substack slows that loop down. You read longer texts, form an inner picture, reflect, and then respond in writing. That time lag changes the whole emotional climate. Quick-fire media create reactions; slower ones create relationships.
Writing slows thought and slowed thought refines culture.

This article comes at the perfect time. What if all algorithms prioritised actual value like this?
I really liked the color your post about fear masquerading as wisdom. I believe that happens a lot.
