Why the river turns
-And why our path in life meanders...
You too should water a great many things on your way, it’s not just about getting to the ocean (the destination) the quickest way possible, sometimes it’s about the exchange between you and the places you meander to.
If you’d like to deepen the immersion, you can listen to this song as you read, it’s one of the go-to songs that I often listen to that aids me with my dives…
Why the river turns…
I saw Marcus in the cave, he held out a glowing orb, it had a blueish hue to it, but I could see into it. It looked like there was a field of grass inside and there was lightning moving throughout the orb.
“What’s that?” I asked.
“This? It’s a device that lets me move to places. It searches for the living connections between things. This,” he showed me, “is an aspect of the kingdom. So many things are connected to each other, and ideally each is also connected to the Father’s river.”
At that point I couldn’t help myself and interrupted. “Who is that angel?” and pointed to the being who was sitting, with his head bent forward as if sleeping or resting. I had seen him at the patchy part of the beginning of my dive but couldn’t get anywhere with it at first. But the image of him remained in the background the entire time. He was thinly built, light skinned, and had two sets of gray feathered wings spread out from his shoulders and ribs respectively.
“Why don’t you go ask him yourself?” Marcus replied.
I walked a few steps toward him and greeted him. The long black hair moved as he picked up his head so I could see his face. “Hello, I’m here resting, had a bit of a grueling mission.”
“Oh?”
He pushed himself off the rock he was sitting on and held his hand out to shake mine. I took his hand to shake it and then I felt something electric run up my arm then down it (in the vision.) Then in the physical I felt a minor cramping type sensation near my heart. I noticed a cut on his left lower wing.
“It’s all right, just need to put it in the river of life,” he told me. “That’s how you heal something you know, bathe it in the river.”
“But how do we do that in the physical?” I questioned.
“Well, you could start by seeing it in a vision and then interacting with it accordingly. Or, you could ask for your spirit to be taken up to it, then what your spirit brings back may manifest in the physical. You’re supposed to have a spring of it inside you remember?” he said as he tapped his finger several times on my chest. “That’s how ya work the miracles and heal people. It’s not your job to know how to heal them, it’s your job to know how to release the river of God onto them, from there the water will decide how best to minister to them.”
So it’s like natural healing, the body decides and prioritizes the order it heals things in, it is not up to you. This might be why we sometimes pray and don’t find the thing we want healed any different. We need to ask Father to come heal what is ready to be healed and see what he does from there, like an inner healing session, I thought.
“Yep, it’s good to ask for what you want, ask for the healing of whatever, but also ask the Father how he wants to work, he sometimes comes up with interesting, meandering paths to the goal.”
“Why is that?” I asked.
“Because you learn things in the turning.” The angel told me.
I cocked my head, not taking his meaning.
He sighed as if explaining it would be hard. “It’s like this,” he paused. “Take for example a river twisting back and forth on itself as it heads to the sea. We know it is not best for the river to go in a straight line, it’s too direct and picks up too much speed as it goes and erosion becomes a problem. Instead, it needs to wind, and as it does it waters a great many things on it’s way.
You too should water a great many things on your way, it’s not just about getting to the ocean (the destination) the quickest way possible, sometimes it’s about the exchange between you and the places you meander to.
Or, take for example a mountain, you know it’s best not to ascend it in a straight line, David says that he makes your feet like a deer's and teaches you how to ascend. If you know anything about ascension it is that you must go about the mountain not merely up it. As you do, you adjust to the differing climate slowly, and you do not slip as you might if you went straight up. The changing of angles gives you new perspectives and this is useful.
A journey straight up would be a journey alone, for you would not touch any other’s journey, you would be like parallel lines. Father wants a family not a collection of individuals, and so he weaves them together. Why does he do this? Because you are adopted into his family, so he has to weave you together to make you into one, otherwise you will be no family at all.”
“Father starts with something (relatively) simple and makes it more complex, he weaves it together with other things and lives so that the thing becomes richer and attached to a great many things. A tree becomes part of a forest, an entire habitat, and a person becomes part of the kingdom. You humans often start with something complex, rip it apart and try to make it simpler, you don’t know how to work with variables. In a way, you are not intelligent enough, at least not at your current level of learning for such things. You are like children who only want to eat one type of food at a time because it’s the only way you can understand it, but as you grow you can become capable of understanding more complex things because your Father teaches you about them and how they work together with other things.
Nearly all of life is a spider’s web, tug on one string and you will move many others.
And Father is the Great Understander of the Ripples that move throughout creation.”
“If I put you as a person into an entirely different culture and community, you would likely begin to act differently, taking up altered roles in order to fill the differing needs of the context you found yourself in, yes? Of course your personality would still come through and steer the ways in which you responded to things, but your roles in this new community might be different than in your previous context. So it is with plants and a great many living beings, if you want to understand them you should understand how they interact with things around them, and perhaps how they interact in different contexts, this shows you their range of possibilities but it also shows you what the thing currently is. Life, true life is never fixed and exactly the same, it varies from day to day and adapts, this is the wonder of a growing living entity and it is the thing that allows creation to grow up and mature into all things. If it were static, it would not be capable of becoming all that Creator made it to be, because it couldn’t grow into anything. It could not grow into maturity. All things should grow toward the Father, all things should grow closer to him and become more like him in their own respect. First you grow toward him, then once you are anchored to him you grow out, like branches on a tree.”
“Father makes many babies, but he wishes them to grow into maturity, things that are not living and growing cannot do that. Perhaps one could say that he was really just being pragmatic, for one could say that it is easier to start with a basic thing and grow it than it is to start with something very complex and build it for it then to entropy. You, as you wind about, become more complex and richer from it.” Then the angel sat back down on the rock and leaned up against the cave wall…

The concept of needing to meander instead of take a straight line makes so much sense… it’s how we are able to connect with the web of relations. 💕🕸️✨
It is cool thinking of our lives as wandering rivers or paths up a mountain and how we intersect or parallel with others for a period together.
