Here, you can find my Dragon Mixtape. Which is a collection of songs that Emerald often requests I play. This is where the music from my notes series “songs my dragon likes” appear after they’ve dropped.
I’m also creating a playlist of instrumental music that aids me with my dives.
As well as a playlist of nature tracks that I’ve also been known to use during my dives.
Reading Material
When I find someone I really enjoy on substack I’m always curious who else they recommend following.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a good built-in feature for that on the substack page. Everything feels “spammy” to me. I want to click something when I’m in the mood to explore and see a list... I decided the way to fix that is to make a post for the header’s bar.
I will update this periodically.
Problem solved!
P.S. feel free to use this idea on your own page…I’ll consider it an open source feature. :)
Substack Publications
Many talk about concepts like “we are all one” in flowery terms that are vague and hard to extract any applicable meaning from. Colin on the other hand, has done a great job of attempting to bring these concepts back down to earth. I have found his descriptions very useful - a rare things for me. I sense there is much to be mined from his writings…
Native American and other indigenous wisdom is a reoccurring theme that has shaped my path. From the time that I was young I have always been drawn to it, and it has continued to shape me, awaken me and heal me in deep ways both emotionally and physically. I’ve been so happy to have found Angel, his writings are like a balancing medicine for our modern culture. Read it when your heart is hungry for something rooted and healing.
Caitlin has a real gift for weaving stories. As a fellow herbalist and dragon-rider her publication has many gems to unearth. Her ability to make us laugh while teaching us meaningful lessons makes reading her posts both entertaining and enriching.

She’s also a co-autor in my series Living with Dragons where Caitlin, Alysia Moonrise and I each share about what it’s like to live with a dragon spirit. 🔥🐉
Alysia is also a fellow dragon-channel and mystic friend. :)
I enjoy reading fantasy and I’ve been pulled into Alysia’s beautifully crafted worlds. I find it is easy to become immersed into her intriguing realms. If you’re looking for some quality fiction check out her work. I’d recommend starting with her rewrite of the Raven Trilogy.

Notes Feed
Notes are the shorter, social media form of posting here on substack and there are a few people that I follow specifically (or even exclusively) for their notes.
Follow them to see their notes in your feed. (Following puts someone into your substack feed without sending emails to your inbox. This only works if you have a substack account.)
To follow someone:
Go to the substack version of their page.
Click the 3 dots to the right of the message me button.
Then click follow.
To see only those you follow in your feed:
You can click “for you” at the top-left of your home feed under “what’s on your mind,” then select “following” from the drop down. Or, visit this link.
Tracy Chrest
Let’s circle back to the topic of Native American wisdom. Tracy is another great source for this. Tracy posts on notes (the shorter, more social media side of substack) and often shares this beautiful wisdom with others. I love seeing his content in my feed.
Fiona
(formerly Breath and Marrow)
Her “notes” are where it’s at! I love seeing her poetic descriptions of how she connects to nature - I resonate with some of them deeply. Follow her if you want beautiful things to show up regularly in your notes feed.
If you are familiar with some of these publications & know of another who would fit well within this vein, please recommend them to me in the comments.
Please also include a few sentences telling me why they’re a worthwhile read. Thank you.
Recommended Books
These books are not substack related, but are worth mentioning. My list of books is short, limited mostly to reads that deeply impacted my journey at the time that I read them… I will continue to update this post periodically when I come across other resources that I feel are worthy of to this list.
Non-Fiction
The Veil
by Blake K Healy
This book was given to me by a friend not long after I started having dives and I couldn’t put it down! I resonated with much of his journey and felt so seen and understood. I was fascinated by his stories and his own interactions with angels. I’ve since then read his other books and even met him in person on a few occasions. I found that he is incredibly down to earth in spite of his incredible experiences.
That’s What the Old Ones Say
by Chief Joseph RiverWind
As some of you might know, I was very ill for several years as a young adult. I was supernaturally healed at a Native American drum circle led by the author of this book. After that I of course read his book...
I loved hearing the treasures that are the Oral Traditions of the First Nations Tribes. Some of them confirmed to me what I have always believed deep in my heart… That the divine can be encountered in many ways, and that nature itself can teach us many things about truth, light and how to live in alignment with the fabric of creation.
For me this book was a stepping stone that helped me break past some of the dogma I was raised around. It solidified the belief that what my heart had always told me was the truth…
Living Water
by Viktor Schauberger
My husband, Storm has always been intrigued by alternative science. I of course have curiosity about the topic as well, since many of my own experiences are better explained and understood within that framework. Storm found this book in an unlikely place, he said the book found him. This man’s work answered questions we have wondered about for many years.
If you, like Storm and I, are troubled by the friction between technology and the natural world, this book will open up an entirely new perspective. Suggesting different approaches for how we might bring modern technology into harmony with nature… It is a very thought provoking read.
Fiction
Fourth Wing (book 1)
by Rebecca Yarros
My mentor gifted this book to me around the time when I met Emerald. When I called and excitedly told him about how I met her, he replied, “Just wait til you see what I sent you in the mail a few days ago! It should be arriving at your house soon.”
It was fourth wing… (Having a prophetic mentor is a wonderfully interesting thing.) The book had only recently released, and I dove into it. Whenever I would read it, I invited Emerald to read it with me. I could often feel her enormous head looking over my shoulder as if she were staring at the page.
When I asked her if she could read, she explained that she could hear me reading it in my mind. I was reading it to her, psychically that is. Emerald loved the book and would often comment about the various accuracies it held about dragon personalities and behavior.
If you are looking for ways to bond with your dragon, or just a great fantasy read, you might enjoy this book. I know I did.
The Dragon Bar
by Richard Kinney & Dr. Nancy Moelk
If you read this book you may notice a familiar water dragon named Emerald appear within the pages. :)
Emerald has been known to interact with several of my friends, including the authors of this book. I was honored to have some of my own stories with her included in the book as well. (I was nicknamed “Angel girl” within its pages.)
As for the rest of the book… I’ll let you discover that for yourself…
If you have friends who are on the lookout for reading material , or you know the type who are always curious, please share my publication with them. :)
If you’re new here, check out my context post.
If you’d like to get to know me better
You can read my story: Scars & Spoils, where I share about my beginnings as a natural-born mystic and how I came to interact with angels and other spirits.
