Oil, water & fire (Part 1 from Baptisms)
Baptisms -Part 1
Part 1 of 2
This is the first of two excerpts from a single dive experience. I’ll link part 2 at the bottom of this post for further reading.
If you’d like to deepen the immersion, you can listen to this song as you read. It’s one of my go-to songs that aids my dives…
Oil, water & fire
I found myself up in the clouds, they were bright and had a tint of gold to them. “Hello,” a man said as he walked toward me.
“Hi,” I replied. A moment later a griffin flew right past me, he was large and I felt his fur brush past me as he went. Start at the feet, I thought as I stared at the man in front of me. I could see human feet on the clouds and I could see a scar on each. I could see a white robe that went down to his ankles with a layer of light blue clothing underneath that hung slightly lower than his outer layer. As I looked further up there was a light that grew brighter near his head.
“How are you today?” he asked.
“I’m good.”
“Would you like to see something?” he said as he turned away.
“Sure.” As I began walking in the same direction as Jesus, I saw Marcus walk up on my right side. He was large and armored. His mood seemed focused on the task at his hand. As we walked I became aware of Marcus’s almost march-like strides. We followed, walking through the clouds until they broke. I could hear what then surrounded me before I could see it through the clouds as they faded. I could hear song birds and the sound of a waterfall. Then there was a meadow and a short ways ahead and to the left was a pool of emerald green water. It had a few large stones at it’s edge as if they had been set there to serve as seats at the water’s edge. There was also a trail off to my right, but my attention was instantly drawn to the pool of water.
“Come,” Jesus said, as he walked over to one of the large stones and sat on it. I followed and did the same, along with Marcus.

Then the vision changed, and I was looking at rolling clouds overhead, they were dark like storm clouds and they were very fast moving. I could see lightning illuminating sections of the clouds.
“What do you see?” Jesus asked me.
“I see clouds, a storm moving.”
“Rain,” he replied.
I wrinkled my forehead, surprised by his answer. “It’s not darkness?”
“It is rain, many people mistake rain that nourishes the earth as darkness approaching. They only see the dark clouds, that is why they associate me with dark clouds -they only see half the picture.”
“So, we’re misinterpreting things?” I asked.
“They are only looking for half the picture. If you want to be afraid, you look for reasons to be so. You must look at the whole picture.”
“I’d like to look for the whole picture,” I answered.
“That’s why I’m teaching you,” he said. “Now, look again.”
“All right.” I breathed deeply then stared at the sky again. This time I saw dark clouds around a mountain and people were up on the mountain. The clouds were swirling around them, then suddenly they were doused with water. They were soaked as if a wave had just washed over them. I saw the water suddenly releasing over the whole area within my view.
Then, I looked above the cloud line and I could see the Father sitting above it...and he was made of water...
Water was flowing from his feet and hands and pouring into the clouds, and that water was releasing from the clouds. Some of the clouds were nearly black, but then I wondered if it was merely because they were heavily laden with water. The people who were on the mountain seemed shocked by the dousing they had just received. I could see water rolling across the ground in every direction ready to spread out from the area within my view to other, nearby regions. I then told Jesus what I saw.
“What if I came to baptize them when they were on the mountain?” Jesus asked.
Somehow when I saw the vision, I knew the people I saw were the elders on mount Sinai shortly before Moses was given the 10 commandments. And I was seeing what God wanted to do... Of course, I thought it was meant to be a baptism into something.
“I had so much more for them,” Jesus said sadly.
Then I wondered to myself, maybe it would have made our minds smaller so they wouldn’t dominate us and we could be brought back into balance.
Reading my thoughts Jesus replied. “No, I do not make things lesser, I give increase. You were wrong in your thinking there.”
“Oh,” I said. “Can I have that baptism?”
“That was a baptism for another time,” Jesus explained. “It is not for now, I have other, better baptisms now.”
“That makes sense. Do baptisms awaken us into another of our bodies?” I asked.
“Some do, yes.”
“Am I here for a baptism?” I asked, feeling as though I might finally be cracking the code of what was transpiring here.
Jesus smiled. “There is water here, no?”
“Are you going to tell me about this baptism and what it is?” I inquired.
“Well, since you asked... But I know that you do not need to understand to follow, that is good. Without that, there would be no mysteries for you to move into.”
He continued, “Oil consecrates you. Consecration means being separated out of the world for something else, something better. First, you must remove yourself from the world. You do this to reconnect with your spirit. You are giving up the shadow of a thing for the more real thing.
The oil: represents the Holy Spirit who is also called Wisdom (or Sophia*). She begins to awaken you to the ‘other’ things, she pulls at your awareness helping you connect to the other realm. This is why you use anointing oil, because this process is only possible with Wisdom. She starts you off on the journey and is your guide. Anointing, one could say, is a baptism of oil.”
“Then, there is the baptism of water: fathership.”
“God has become your Father, and you his children, you are brought through water into sonship. Water and flesh are both physical elements, so it is fitting that your first, and more physical birth is with that of the elements of the flesh.
“Then, there is the fire baptism:”
“The spirit is the thing that is baptized with fire. This baptism is with elements your body cannot touch – spiritual elements. Once again we have like elements with like. (The spirit with spiritual elements.) My eyes are like fire, my feet like blazing bronze, I am fire. Fire is the baptism through the Son, this is why there were tongues of fire at Pentecost, I was returning to them again, only in a different form.”
In this form I was able to divide among them and be with each of them, something I could not do in my human body. I am the living word, so I came to them in tongues, I gave them words and speech for I am myself the word. -This means that I am the communicator and the ambassador of the God-family, this is my role. This is why my followers did not need to be worried beforehand about what to speak, because I, the Living Tongue, would be in them. I would rise up within them and be their words. I am their Defender, and whoever would oppose them, would oppose me.”
*Sophia means wisdom.
Note:
I learned during this experience that it was the Israelites who demanded a law and a mediator/prophet. Father had other desires, what he wanted was something relational, not legal. This realization profoundly reshaped my understanding of God and his desires for us. I was often confused and saddened by certain things I read in the Old Testament. I now understand that many of the interactions that happened under the Mosiac law were based on dynamics that the people demanded, and they need to be understood in that light. This is one of the reasons why Jesus came to restore us back into a relational dynamic rather than a legalistic framework…

Baptisms -Part 2
Then Jesus stood up. I followed suit. “Now, for your baptism,” he said.
I nodded, wondering what was coming next. I looked at the pool and noticed that it’s bottom was very deep, and thought, but there’s no bottom, at least not one you could reach.
“That is because,” he answered, “the water I give you is without end.” Then he stopped and looked at me, “Have you seen me?”
If this realization impacted you, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
