Baptisms (Part 2 from Oil, Water & Fire)
This is the second of two excerpts from a single dive experience. The posts can be read in any order. To check out the first excerpt click here, or jump to it at the end of this post.
If you’d like to deepen the immersion, you can listen to this song as you read. It’s one of my go-to songs that aids my dives…
Baptisms
Then Jesus stood up. I followed suit. “Now, for your baptism,” he said.
I nodded, wondering what was coming next. I looked at the pool and noticed that it’s bottom was very deep, and thought, but there’s no bottom, at least not one you could reach.
“That is because,” he answered, “the water I give you is without end.” Then he stopped and looked at me, “Have you seen me?”
“Yes,” I answered, wondering where he was going with the question.
“Then you shall see the Father,” he said. With that he turned and began walking away. I instantly followed with eager expectation. We walked up alongside the path, or that’s what I thought it was before. I now realized I had seen a river and we were walking near its bank. Up along the river we walked toward a throne. The throne looked like it was made out of sapphire. I could see a being made of water sitting on it. His form was almost hard to make out with it’s waves and motion, but his face, that was easy to see. It was gentle, he seemed old and wise, though how I could tell that with a water being I couldn’t say… It was more of a feeling than sight.
There was so much life in the water and it bubbled up in little waves all over the place, it was effervescent, and seemed almost as if it was carbonated. I hesitated to say anything to him.
Then he broke the silence, by saying my name. It sounded like wind. “How can you be hesitant to speak to me when you are mine?” he asked.
“It’s hard to say,” I replied. And frankly, I would have had trouble putting it into words. I felt a sort of sadness, as if I wasn’t really sure I belonged, or something along those lines.
“Do you think I cannot hold you because I am water?” He asked.
“Well, yes, I suppose.”
He laughed softly, “Have you never been swimming? You have been held by water many times.”
As he said the words I couldn’t help wondering if that had anything to do with why I loved swimming so much when I was a child.
“Feeling the water was a little like feeling me on your skin,” he told me. “I could always hold you up, I could handle you when you weren’t sure others could. But this force always could. I am thick and I am warm, I can surround every part of your being. I am vast and can be explored, and I nourish life within me, and I can nourish you too... Where my essence is, life springs forth. Now, come here child.”
I began to walk toward the throne, there were steps on it, and I had a feeling they were for us, not him. I climbed up the steps then turned to sit on his lap unsure what to expect. I expected to find my butt sitting on the throne with water washing all around me, but instead there seemed to be some sort of form that I sat on. While I did, water rushed around me like rapids in a stream. It is warm. The fast movement made it feel only slightly warm, but it was not cold. If I had been hot I had the feeling the movement would have cooled them off, yet the water was warm enough that I wouldn’t become chilled either. I sat there, with the water rushing over me from my naval, down as emotions started passing through me.
“I love you my daughter,” he told me. “I’ll take you just as you are.” He pulled my head into his shoulder, the water now washing over my left side. The warmth of the water felt akin to the body heat that is felt when snuggling up to a human being, making it feel almost as if I was hugging a human while standing in a waterfall.
“It feels good,” I said softly, “sitting here.”
“It feels good to me too,” he replied.
I sat there for a while. Later he asked. “Are you ready?”
I pulled my head back and looked at his face, I wasn’t sure what he was inquiring about. I rolled my lips together, “yes.”
He moved his body toward me. I barely knew what was happening as the vision was interrupted while my physical body shivered and convulsed forward several times. When I tried to reengage with the vision it happened again. I took a deep breath and tried another time. I felt the water engulf me like a wave and he moved his chest over and around me so that went into the core of his body.
I was inside him, surrounded by water...
My physical body could breathe, yet I felt like I was having trouble breathing all at the same time. I wondered if it was just a mental thing. I started feeling like I might fall asleep.
The water was almost the same color as the teal colored pool I had seen on another dive. But this water had a light blue along the borders of his body -where the movement was.
I was inside of him for what felt like a long time...
~~~
Then, he reached inside of himself with his arm, took hold of me and pulled me out of himself. My physical body shivered again. In the spirit, I felt dizzy and disoriented for a moment. I could tell I was running out of energy for the dive. I looked up and he smiled at me. “Go get something to eat,” he told me. “This is the first baptism.”
I knew he meant that that there was more to come on another dive…
Baptisms -Part 1
I found myself up in the clouds, they were bright and had a tint of gold to them. “Hello,” a man said as he walked toward me.
“Hi,” I replied. A moment later a griffin flew right past me, he was large and I felt his fur brush past me as he went.
