Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! :)
A Gratitude Journal Entry
Hi,
I wanted to pause and create a post specifically for the holiday: a light read keeping the theme for the day. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
Peace,
Willow
I’m grateful for:
Forests, especially when they’re open for hiking. I love trees. Everything always feels magical within the woods…
The occasional decaf cappuccino with cinnamon and cocoa powder sprinkled on top of the froth.
I’m grateful for my husband who makes popcorn before I read my newest dive to him. “Dives are better than most movies,” he tells me, so sometimes we eat theater style snacks while I read aloud. Complete with my best Emerald imitations of course. :D
Gardening, feeling the soil between my fingers and under my nails. I’m thankful to the plants when they produce bountifully for us. And for the ability to grow a garden in a non-conventional way. In a way that feels more in-tune with the rhythms of nature…
Weeds: herbal medicine that grows itself. They often have their own beauty if we can see them without the preconception that they do not belong. I see them as a picture of abundance, the way mother earth takes care of us, balancing both soil and our own bodies…
Hedges where birds come and perch to sing. Where they happily hop about during their day.
Wild, un-curated spaces. I often find wildflowers in a field of tall grass to be more beautiful than boquets wrapped in plastic from a store.
Paths that I can wander from to see what I might find...
I’m thankful for angels who make me laugh. Because life is too short to not laugh...especially at myself.
Music that awakens our deep places.
Drums with rhythms that call to us...
A growing sense of peace as I have finally come home to myself, embracing my unique path.
I love misty days, where everything is shrouded in fog. Days where anything could be on the other side of the mist… Days where I feel spiritual beings swimming through it. These are days for writing and drinking tea with milk. Times for lighting candles and fairy lights.
I’m thankful for new friends on substack and a surprisingly supportive community.
For humans who restore our faith in humanity.
For small, family owned shops, roadside stands and a growing trend to shop local.
For a realm filled with wonder and nobility, even if we are still learning how to perceive it with our subtle senses.
For exploration and surprises!
For beings who are (so much) larger than myself. Because a small life is boring…
I hold deep gratitude for the love and connection that spills over from the spiritual realm.
For adventure and trust.
For time shared with those I love.
For readers who are supporting me as I start this part of my journey! :)
Last but not least, I am grateful to Native Americans and their cultural wisdom. They are the reason Thanksgiving is part of our culture. Their peoples have been pivotal in my spiritual journey and I am deeply grateful to them. May we remember our beginnings and honor those roots. I send blessings toward them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yet here is a mystery, you humans have a unique capacity to experience and express love in a manner that is different and greater than other beings do. Humans have this strange capacity to become the most loving beings in the cosmos, second only to the God-trio.”

Beautiful. And I wish you a happy Thanksgiving as well.
Happy Thanksgiving! :)
