How to Move with the River
My Guardian Angel teaches about the powerful flow of life-energy & how to move with it, so that we are made stronger...
Sunrise in the Marshland
“Good Morning Little One,” Marcus crooned.
“Morning? It’s still night.”
“It’s morning here,” he answered.
I could barely see the the landscape of the moon we were standing on. The light was still dim, it looked different somehow… Then I realized it was probably because the entire sky was painted yellow with a few streaks of green near the horizon. I’d never watched a sunrise here before…
~~~
After we watched the sun’s appearance, the 30-foot angel got up and strode off. There was intention in his brisk pace, a behavior I’d seldom observed. “Come,” Marcus told me in a deep, booming voice. “There is much to teach you.”
We walked to a different part of the moon where a creature stood with its back toward me. It had rich golden hair that went a little ways down the back. There were goat legs with grayish brown fur, like the color of a woodland wolf. The lower half clashed with the shiny gold hair. It was the first time I’d noticed how strange the combination seemed and I found myself feeling puzzled by its dissonance…
I stood there studying the creature. My eyes fell across huge white feathered wings near the shoulder. Then my gaze floated down to his lower back, where a set of four dragonfly wings attached.
Akiemba turned around “looking at my dragonfly wings, huh?”
I nodded.
“That’s cool,” he said non-nonchalantly. “Smell the roses, look around.”
I noticed a hill to my left. It had a few trees on its slope and flowers growing all along it. From the distance I wasn’t sure if they were pink and white, or red with white. “Where are we?” I asked, not recognizing the area.
“You’re in a new spot here, one of the areas you’ve not been to before.”
“Neat!” There was a small field with tall grasses, which felt oddly familiar… Then to the left, the land rose. Beyond the crest of the slope were green upcroppings, either a forest, or the tops of tall prairie grasses. I walked in that direction, feeling the swarthy grasses, with my outstretched palms. Most grew a few feet taller than me, except for a shortened patch near the front-center. The blades were round and I could tell they were hollow by how they bent in the wind. They reminded me of water reeds, or green cattails. There were no signs of seeding or anything else on their top, just a cone shape that closed the stalks at the tip.
“This is neat, is it wet here?” I asked, as I took note of the swampy vibe.
“Why don’t you find out for yourself.” Akiemba nudged.
“Oh, right.” I felt a little embarrassed I had asked a silly question instead of simply exploring.
I walked further in, then crouched down and touched the ground. It was moist, though nothing out of the ordinary. I had the feeling it was wetter ahead. I walked forward and felt the ground again, this time it was fully saturated with perhaps a little excess water. I went deeper still and the ground became spongy. Here and there a thin layer of water lay on top of the soil. I continued exploring the swampy area for quite a while.
How to Move with the River
When I had my fill of exploration, Akiemba began teaching me. “It is more important to know how a healthy Eco-system functions and how to rebuild it. Worry less about treating the overt symptoms and instead treat the underlying root. Otherwise you will not get anywhere. For example, when you ask ‘why are the goats getting mange?’ Do not merely treat the goats. Instead, heal the low-quality water that is causing the goats to weaken and break out with mange. Do you understand, Little One?”
I nodded.
“When you are trying to fix a complex system like your body or an ecosystem, ask yourself: ‘What is the lowest (or most primary) level?’ Then start there. In the body it is the blood, in the earth, it is the water.”
“Water, by the way, should be thought of as Mother Earth’s breast-milk. For it is the life giving nourishment that she shares with you. It is liquid {which flows from her peaks/mountains.} Interestingly enough, they are just now finding out that a mother’s breast milk contains some of the mother’s own blood, though it is mixed and changed so as to be a proper form for the child to consume. (This is not the same as the way in which you are warned not to consume blood. In fact, this is part of why you are told not to do this.) Each creature shares her blood mixed into the milk for her young. This is the proper way that she shares some of her own life. This is giving from a surplus. In this case is a gift, and it is proper to consume it. But to bleed and consume blood straight from the animal (in isolation) - this is the very life of the animal. For if you take its blood, you kill it. This idea of taking an entire thing and leaving nothing goes against the very essence of what you were taught.”
“You see this same principle in the concepts of leaving the corners of the field unharvested. In not taking the entirety of a thing. To take the very core and essence of the thing you killed would be a violation, instead this essence, the blood, should be returned to earth, who is the creature’s mother. This is a fitting type of funeral for the beast you have taken.” {We may consume the rest of the animal for meat and other purposes, but the blood should be returned to the earth.}
“You must always return something: this is the law of life. For life is a flow, it is movement. If you take all of a thing and return nothing, then you have stopped the flow. Like a dam, that pressure that is the flow of life will weigh down on you. If you continue to live in that way - taking without returning, the pressure will build up and eventually crush that person. This is how the laws of nature deal with the selfish and the traitors. These laws keeps things in check in their due time...”
“If you do not feed the river, and if you do not move with it, then you will be destroyed by the river. Learn a lesson from an ill-placed rock. You see how the currents erode and beat down the rock? Here the the very force of life has become a force of destruction to the unmoving thing.”
Many lessons are wrapped up in this one understanding:
The movement of the river is life-force-power.*
And this movement, will do one of two things:
Either it will continue to breathe life into you, it will propel and nourish you.
Or, it will beat you down and destroy you.
Such is the strength of the river…
*This “life-force” is also called Qi, mana etc..
Then I asked Akiemba. “That’s the reason for the principles of the Ancient righteous ones, and the patterns of conduct in the Old Testament, isn’t it?”
“Yes, the principles teach you how to swim in the river. Notice how the salmon can stand still in the river and rest? So it is the same, finding rest in the principles. That is why Father said he ‘desired to give them rest but they would have none of it,’** and that is why you are told Jesus’s ‘yoke is light’.”***
“So too, the salmon can even propel themselves upstream (it is an easy thing to be carried downstream, and even fools can accomplish that sometimes. For that is often how the unrighteous manage to accomplish anything - to ride downstream from time to time.) This is why the salmon can swim upstream without effort: they understand the river...”
“God hides great mysteries in little fish. He hides it in salamanders that hide beneath rocks. And he hides them in the huge elephant who remembers her creator. For that is why the Elephant is so intelligent, she remembers…. She remembers, HIM…”
Why the River Turns...
“You too should water a great many things on your way, it’s not just about getting to the ocean (the destination) the quickest way possible, sometimes it’s about the exchange between you and the places you meander to.”
Context for New Readers - I Talk to Angels
What if it were possible to have conversations with angels and other spiritual beings? What would they say? What questions would we find ourselves asking them? What if we could pour ourselves a beverage and listen to someone interview them on a podcast or YouTube channel? My writings are perhaps a glimpse into that very idea...
